ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Even though there are some fantastic programs already in place to enhance the underprivileged all over the world, many girls and young women still do not have access to a basic education.

We felt obliged to do what we could to help because in some parts of the world, girls are four times more likely to drop out of school than boys from the same background, making education one of the most effective ways to raise living standards. As the saying goes, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime."

To that aim, we are partnering with the Tarkwa Breman Girl's School (TBGS) run by Cocoa360, a nonprofit organization in Ghana, a small country in West Africa, which has developed a self-sustaining rural development model that includes a clinic in addition to a zero-fee community school (TBGS) made possible in part by partners.

Every time you purchase a timepiece, a percentage of the cost is used to support one month's worth of classes in rural Ghana.

According to research, investing in the education of girls promotes economic growth and strengthens families.

Tarkwa Beman Girls School, run by Cocoa360, serves 8 communities and has 167 students enrolled across 6 grade with 98% attendance rate, much higher than in other communities, with the clinic having served over 8000 patients to date.
